At long last, I have finally achieved my goal of reaching the Golden Llama Badge Level, which requires receiving at least 10,000 Llama Badges, each one from a different account. My thanks to everyone that helped! It's nice to be done, haha. I'm officially retiring from llama trading now, although I will still return any badges that are sent to me randomly. I just won't seek out any new trades. However, I'm still seeking Cake Badge trades and have enough Points for the rest of the ones I need.
I received my first Llama Badge on March 30, 2011, from my friend quietmaverick44
, but if the other early badge level achievements are any indication, I didn't really start working at this goal until December 2012. So, it has taken me roughly one year and eight months to accomplish this (albeit, my level of effort varied greatly along the way). Nearly 4,900 of those llamas were received this year (whereas I sent out a little less than 9,000 of them this year). My overall return rate from other parties was around 47% (please don't confuse this with *my* return rate, as I've made a point of doing my best to return any badges that I've received throughout this entire period of time). I learned some good techniques for getting Llama Badges relatively fast and reliably, which I'd be happy to share with anyone interested.
Overall, this isn't too exciting of a journal, but I wanted to reflect on this journey of sorts. If anyone was curious, the "good thing" that I mentioned in my last journal entry happened, but some other weirdness surfaced shortly afterwards. Hopefully, things will work out in the long run. -shrugs-
